We’re Vancoa.

We design websites, graphics, and videos for businesses right here in Kansas City.

Here’s a little about the businesses we work with.

They say that you are who you do business with. And let’s face it, you’re lucky if you get to do business with people you admire, respect, and enjoy. Well, consider us extremely lucky. Over the past year, we’ve been honored to consistenly work with folks who blow us away, whether it’s through their commitment to customers or aggressive attention to detail. (By the way, if you’re a client and you’re reading this, yeah, we’re bragging on you. Don’t let it get to your head.)

We like to keep busy.

We like to stay sharp with our own internal projects, too. Stay tuned to the blog over the next several months, where we’ll keep you posted on new product developments and beta launches.

Specialization:

We’re not a full service consultancy, nor do we want to be. We don’t bring every service to the table, and we never will. We do a few things, and we do them very well.

  • Development

Big and small, fast and robust, chunky and creamy, we make web applications

  • Design

We’ve studied everything from the meaning of space to the best crayons.

  • Marketing

Give us a sign with your business name on it, and we’ll stan on the sidewalk flipping it around.

  • Animation

What kind of animation do we do? Imagine what Disney does and then imagine us doing the exact opposite.

Tools:

Here’s some of the stuff we’re good at.

Philosophy:

Why do people deliberately complicate things? No, honestly. Why? It’s maddening. Why do companies complicate things for no reason? Every day, we all see it, but few say anything. No, I’m not talking about the office walls with two colors. I’m talking about logo with five colors; the small business with a quarter page ad in a phonebook; the outsourcing to a social media expert (as if there is such a thing); the untouched and unused stationary; the pen mounted on the desk with a tiny ball chain attached. I’m talking about an insidious, life-destroying plague: complication.

Simplicity is the
truest form of excellence.

That’s it. The more limited, if adequate, is always preferable, and it always will be. This is not just a business philosophy or a motto. At Vancoa, this is the true goal for our business and ourselves.

A man must be able to cut a knot, for everything cannot be untied; he must know how to disengage what is essential from the detail in which it is enwrapped, for everything cannot be equally considered; in a word, he must be able to simplify his duties, his business and his life.
